Master Scuba Diver Trainer/Specialty Instructor

Increase your opportunity to teach, earn more money, and have more fun by becoming an MSDT. Your students already want to learn many of the specialized activities we participate in underwater.  All you need are the credentials to teach them.

Our program will prepare you to organize, promote and conduct various specialty courses. We will include many hints, tips and suggestions on how to make these courses valuable and fun for your students.

Each specialty instructor rating requires a certain number of dives during the course. We will make a total of 9 dives together. The list below indicates how many dives we are required to make together for each specialty. You can select which specialties you would like to be able to teach. All participants do not need to choose the same specialties.

Once you have earned 5 specialty instructor ratings and have certified at least 25 students (in any PADI course) you may apply for the MSDT rating.

Specialty Instructor –
any single course  $200 (except rebreather)

Specialty Instructor –
multiple course $250 per day, 3 training dives per day

The only PADI material required is the Specialty Instructor Manual.

PADI charges $29 for registration to teach each specialty.
