Tips for Purchase and Care of Mask, Snorkel, and Fins
Protect your mask when you travel. A padded mask pouch, if your mask doesn’t come with one, is a worthwhile investment. Masks can easily crack during the packing and transit phase. Initially clean both sides of the mask lens with toothpaste (the old school gritty type, not the sparkly gel type). You only need to do it once.
Store fins flat, not blade down. They can develop a bend in the blade that is difficult to restore.
We recommend snorkels that have a replaceable mouthpiece. Always carry an extra snorkel keeper, they have many uses.
A slap strap is a great addition to your mask, especially if you have long hair. They prevent entanglement, are easier to adjust and stay in place better than traditional mask straps.
