Galapagos Islands June 27 to July 7, 2006

Considered by many as the top diving destination in the world, the Galapagos Islands are a naturalist’s wonderland. A United Nations heritage site, it is a protected region, ensuring the preservation of its very unique flora and fauna. The bio-diversity of the Galapagos is spectacular and we will see both aquatic and terrestrial wildlife on our adventure.

Each island presents a different landscape to explore and experience. We will have daily shore visits to observe the amazing animals and birds that inhabit these islands, except while we are at Wolf and Darin islands.

We will see such things as giant tortoises, sea lions, the heralded blue footed boobies, both land and marine iguanas, and many, many more interesting creatures.

In the water we are will see several species of sharks, hammerheads, Galapagos, white tip, etc. The islands are a great place for mantas, whalesharks and always loads of friendly fish. We will even spend an afternoon swimming with penguins. What make the Galapagos truly stand out in our book though is the Sea lions. They will play with you for hours on end, making faces, turning summersaults, blowing bubbles, tugging on your fins, just plain having fun!

The combination of land, diving and snorkeling adventures makes this the perfect trip for both divers and nondivers. There is plenty for everyone to see and do.

We will spend two nights in Quito before visiting the Galapagos and one night after. We have included a one day visit to the Andes before we fly out to the Galapagos.

While in the islands we will be aboard the Galapagos Aggressor. The vessel has 7 spacious cabins each with private facilities.

We will be accompanied by two certified naturalists to guide us underwater and on land excursions to make sure we get the most out of our visit. The naturalists will provide enrichment lectures on each land visit and onboard the yacht.

Hammerheads
– We always see several at Gordon Rocks and sometimes see huge schools when diving at Wolf and Darwin Islands.

Mantas – These magnificent giants are always a joy to swim with, we often seen them at Roca Redonda and at Seymore.

Whalesharks - No guarantees but you never know when one of these giants will appear out of the blue.

Play with sealions - They will play with you for hours on end, making faces, turning summersaults, blowing bubbles, tugging on your fins, just plain having fun!

Snorkel with penguins – It’s always great fun to swim with these speedsters. This is the farthest north any species of penguins venture.

Giant tortoises – Visit George and his mates on Santa Cruz. We spend the day on the island in the highlands and at the Darwin research Center.

Marine iguanas – This is the only place in the world to see these unique creatures. We see them on land and will attempt to swim with them on Fernandina.

Blue footed boobies – We visit several nesting sites and always see both Blue and Red footed boobies.

Perfect trip for non-divers too – tons to see and do topside

Land excursions daily – sea lion colonies, magnificent vistas, unique flora

Our fifth trip to the Galapagos – experience pays!
